    Colorado Office of Sustainability Releases Statewide Sustainability Strategic Plan for State Government

    DENVER - The Colorado Office of Sustainability, housed within the Department of Personnel & Administration (DPA), released its first Statewide Sustainability Strategic Plan, setting ambitious new goals to drive environmentally sustainable government operations and reduce energy and water costs for taxpayers. This plan builds upon the success of previous greening government initiatives and aligns with Gov. Polis’ 2025-2027 Operational Agenda.

    Governor Polis Celebrates International Women’s Day

    GLENDALE - Today, Governor Polis and WorldDenver celebrated International Women's Day, and presented Maria Garcia Berry with the Individual Award for International Women’s Day. 

    “International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on the achievements of the remarkable women in Colorado and around the world. I am honored to recognize my friend Maria Garcia Berry, a woman who has been a driving force in our state, by expanding leadership opportunities and global connections for women in Colorado,” said Governor Polis.

    Colorado Celebrates 2 Million Free Books Delivered Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

    DENVER – Today, Governor Jared Polis, Llama Llama (of Red pajama fame) and Dr Lisa Roy with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) delivered the 2 millionth book through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library at Westwood Early Learning Center. The program, launched by Dolly Parton in 1995 and expanded to Colorado in 2020, mails free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age 5 every month.

    Governor Polis to Attend Denver’s First Ever Smart Stair Housing Competition, Smart Stair Apartments: Smart For Safety, Supply, and Affordability

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis will attend Denver’s first ever Single Stair Housing competition. Designs will be judged on how they use Single-Stair, or Smart-Stair apartments, to create more housing people can afford, while enhancing the walkability and liveability of neighborhoods. Governor Polis called for Smart Stair reform in his 2025 State of the State address and will join Denver’s first Single-Stair Housing Challenge Awards, a competition of single stair apartment designs that use this strategy to increase housing options Coloradans can afford while enhancing walkability and liveability in our neighborhoods. The event begins tonight at 5 pm MT and will be held at 1550, Wynkoop Street, Denver, CO 80202.

    Celebrating Denver International Airport: The Doorway To The Rockies

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis joined Denver Mayor Johnston, Denver City Council, Adams County Commissioners, and other former elected officials at the Denver International Airport (DEN) 30th Anniversary Celebration to highlight the positive impact the airport has on Colorado’s economy and discuss the future of the national hub.
