    Governor Polis Opens Fishers Peak State Park

    In September 2019, Governor Polis announced the goal of providing a meaningful level of public access to the Fishers Peak property by 2021. Today, Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Parks and Wildlife achieved that goal by opening the first trailhead at Colorado’s 42nd State Park, providing initial public access to 250 acres of the property via three trails and a public picnic area.

    Colorado Receives Rural Broadband Grant

    DENVER — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a grant award of $6 million to Yampa Valley Electric Association today, expanding northwestern Colorado’s rural broadband access to an additional 264 homes, farms and businesses located in Routt, Moffat and Eagle counties.

    State Announces Tax Relief for Victims of East Troublesome Fire

    The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) understands some businesses will be unable to meet Colorado filing and payment deadlines as a result of the East Troublesome fire. CDOR will offer relief on state-collected taxes to Colorado businesses who have been affected by the fires in Estes Park and Grand Lake.

    Gov. Polis, Joined by COVID-19 Survivors, Provides Update on State Response to Pandemic

    Governor Jared Polis provided an update on the State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic today. Gov. Polis was joined by three COVID-19 survivors who shared their personal stories about their experience, challenges, and lingering health issues stemming from COVID-19. Scott Bookman, CDPHE’s COVID19 Incident Commander also provided an important update on hospitalization data.

    Gov. Polis Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

    Colorado Healthcare Affordability and Sustainability Enterprise (CHASE)

    Colorado Healthcare Affordability and Sustainability Enterprise is responsible for working with the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing and the Medical Services Board to develop the hospital provider fee model, monitor the implementation of House Bill 09-1293, help with the preparation of annual reports on this program, and ensure that the Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) eligibility expansions are implemented as intended.

    CO Exposure Notification Technology Goes Live Today

    Governor Jared Polis today announced that the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has launched its statewide COVID-19 exposure notification system, in partnership with Google and Apple. Coloradans received a notice on their Android and Apple phones with instructions about how to opt-in.
