    Gov. Polis & Sheriff Pelle Provide Update on Boulder County Fire Recovery, Polis Administration Announces Availability of Disaster Unemployment Assistance for those Affected by Marshall Fire

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis joined Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle to provide an update on critical resources for the thousands of people affected by the Marshall Fire. Earlier today, Governor Polis toured the Disaster Assistance Center in Boulder, a one-stop shop for resources. Today, Polis administration and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) announced that Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) has been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for individuals, including unemployed self-employed individuals, who were living, working, or traversing to work in the impacted areas at the time of the major disaster caused by the Marshall Fire, Wildfires and Straight-line Winds in Boulder County on December 31, 2021 and continuing.

    Resources for Coloradans Impacted by the Marshall Fire

    Today Boulder County announced the addresses of homes and businesses impacted by the fire. There are resources available to those impacted by the devastating wildfires. Please find below information about how to access behavioral health support and the next steps to take related to insurance and financial assistance. President Biden today approved the Colorado Disaster Declaration making federal funding available to affected individuals in Boulder County. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.

    Governor Polis Grants Clemency, Including Marijuana Pardons

    Today, Governor Jared Polis announced that he has granted three commutations, fifteen individual pardons, and signed an Executive Order granting 1,351 pardons for convictions of possession of two ounces or less of marijuana.

    Governor Polis Activates Colorado National Guard to Increase COVID-19 Testing

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis authorized the activation of over 200  Colorado National Guard members to support testing sites and other COVID19 response and recovery activities in Colorado. The additional support will start January 1st and be in support of multiple sites across the state.

    New Colorado Minimum Wage Goes Into Effect Jan. 1

    DENVER - The new Colorado minimum wage will rise on January 1, 2022, to $12.56 or $9.54 for those receiving enough in tips for total pay to meet or exceed the full minimum wage.

    Colorado Making Significant Progress on Actions Identified in Greenhouse Gas Roadmap

    DENVER - A report jointly released by the Executive Directors of the Colorado Energy Office (CEO), Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) shows that the state has made significant progress on the near-term actions identified in the Colorado Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap which was released earlier this year.  These actions include greenhouse gas pollution standards for transportation planning, investments in EV infrastructure and incentives, clean truck strategy, energy efficiency requirements for gas utilities, clean heat planning for gas utilities, and advanced building codes, among a variety of other actions.
