DENVER - Governor Jared Polis released the following statement to celebrate National Public Lands Day and encourage all Coloradans to take advantage of Colorado’s public land. 

DENVER- Gov. Jared Polis, in partnership with fiscal sponsor Rose Community Foundation, announced the Colorado Afghan Evacuee Support Fund to ensure that Colorado is prepared to welcome Afghan evacuees and connect them with community resources. Contributions will fund grants to organizations in Colorado that provide refugee resettlement services, health and mental health services for newcomers, legal services to help evacuees navigate available pathways for permanency in the U.S., and other forms of needed assistance.

DENVER - Governor Jared Polis released the following statement upon reports the U.S. FDA approved Pfizer booster shots for people over 65 and those at high risk for severe illness or exposure to COVID-19. 

988 Crisis Hotline Enterprise Board of Directors In 2020, the Federal Communications Commission adopted rules to establish 988 as the new, nationwide, 3-digit phone number for Americans in crisis to connect with suicide prevention and mental health crisis counselors. The Enterprise Board of Directors imposes a 988 surcharge and a prepaid wireless 988 charge, funds the 988 crisis hotline, and works with third parties to provide crisis outreach, stabilization, and acute care

DENVER- Today, the Joint Budget Committee members and Chair Moreno approved a plan put forward by the Polis-Primavera administration and the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing that starting January 1, 2022, direct care workers funded with any state dollars working in-home and community-based settings are to receive a minimum wage of $15 per hour. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis provided an update on Colorado’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, where he shared an overview of the state’s plan to administer booster shots, an announcement of the opening of several community vaccination sites, and provided information about a new at-home testing program provided by the state.  Governor Polis was joined by Dr. Rachel Herlihy, State Epidemiologist.
