    Colorado Recognized As National Leader in Cost-Saving, Sustainable Building Practices

    DENVER — Today, the U.S. Green Business Council recognized the Polis Administration’s leadership in moving Colorado towards a more sustainable future in building construction, naming Colorado fourth nationally in development of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified buildings in 2021. The Green Business Council’s annual ranking of Top States for LEED recognizes states with the greatest increase in gross square footage of LEED-certified space over the past year.

    Polis Administration’s Free Medical Grade Mask Program Distributes 1.7 Million Masks in First Week

    DENVER (Jan. 25, 2022)— Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) are excited to announce that as of today, they have delivered more than 1.7 million free KN95 and surgical grade masks to 386 distribution points across the state. Due to inclement weather in parts of the state today, the state encourages Coloradans to call ahead to a distribution site in their area or check their website or social media for weather impacts.

    Colorado’s Unemployment Rate Continues to Decline Under Polis Administration

    DENVER — Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment announced today that Colorado’s unemployment rate has declined to 4.8%, marking the first time since March 2020 that the unemployment rate has dropped below 5% and the seventh consecutive month of decline. Colorado continues to out-perform the majority of states with one of the fastest recovery rates in the nation. December marked the fourth straight month with Colorado adding at least 9,000 payroll jobs.

    Polis Administration Makes Key Resources Available for Child Care Providers

    DENVER — Today, the Polis administration and the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) in a shared effort to help keep and return parents to the workforce and move Colorado forward, opened the noncompetitive application for Child Care Stabilization Grants, funded by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA).
