    DENVER  – Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice within the Colorado Department of Public Safety highlighted that the Crime Prevention through Safer Streets Grant Program is accepting applications through October 19th. The Crime Prevention through Safer Streets Grant program will support local governments and agencies in creating effective public safety changes through community-driven strategies and neighborhood design.

    DENVER – This morning at a meeting of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that Virta Health, a health technology company and leader in type 2 diabetes reversal, has selected Colorado for its new headquarters. Under the Polis administration, Colorado has secured many new business headquarters that will create good-paying jobs for Coloradans.

    Governor Polis Announces CPW’s Discovery of Greenback Cutthroat Naturally Reproducing in Ancestral Waters of their Native South Platte Drainage

    DENVER – After more than a decade of intensive efforts to rescue the greenback cutthroat trout from the brink of extinction, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced Friday it has discovered that the state fish is naturally reproducing in Herman Gulch, one of the first places the agency stocked it in its native South Platte River drainage.

    Serve Colorado Executive Director John Kelly Receives National Honor from America’s Service Commissions

    DENVER — John Kelly of Serve Colorado was named the 2022 Outstanding Commission Executive Director Award recipient at the virtual awards ceremony hosted by America’s Service Commissions (ASC) on September 22. The awards program is held each year to recognize the accomplishments of state and territorial service commission staff, commissioners, service programs, and champions of national service throughout the United States and its territories.

    DENVER — Today the Governor appointed Robert R. Gunning to the 20th Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Norma A. Sierra and is effective October 6, 2022.

    Governor Polis Takes Action in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

    DENVER — Today, Governor Polis signed an Executive Order to amend and extend  the COVID-19 disaster declaration, which allows agencies to continue to access State and federal funding for rapid response to changes in the public health environment due to COVID-19. It also supports the health care system to remain appropriately staffed and prepared to respond to public health. The amendments remove provisions which are no longer needed for COVID-19 response.
