GOLDEN - Today, the Polis administration and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) announced the next stage in bringing to life a nation-leading, innovative Global Energy Park (Glo Park) in Golden, Colorado. With the completion of land swaps between the Department of Energy, the State of Colorado, and Jefferson County, the Glo Park has garnered attention from international companies spearheading energy transition. The campus will be located within walking distance of NREL in the heart of Colorado’s internationally recognized energy research and innovation ecosystem, further cementing Colorado’s role at the nexus of renewable energy innovation and collaboration.

DENVER – Today, the Polis administration announced the next step in implementing the Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado program, with enrollment opening on January 17th for families to register their kids for preschool this fall. Colorado’s Universal Preschool provider registration is off to a strong start with more than 29,000 seats available across the state. Over 850 providers have signed up to participate in the state-funded high-quality, voluntary mixed delivery preschool program available to every Colorado child in the year before they are eligible to enter kindergarten.

DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order amending and extending the current COVID-19 disaster declaration. The disaster declaration allows agencies to continue to access state and federal funding for recovery efforts, to rapidly respond to changes in the public health environment, and to support the healthcare system to remain appropriately staffed and prepared to respond to public health. The disaster declaration refocuses the State’s efforts on COVID-19 recovery and ends the disaster declaration for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), influenza, and other respiratory illnesses.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Anthony Nathaniel Baca to a vacancy on the 6th Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the resignation of the Honorable Todd. P. Norvell and is effective January 14, 2023.
DENVER - The Polis Administration released the biannual progress report on the Reduction Roadmap which summarizes key steps taken during the past six months to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) and other air pollution. These actions included important progress on clean energy plans by electric utilities, successful implementation of a statewide free transit fare grant program, new funding to construct electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along major Colorado roads, highways and in state parks, and completion of a key environmental justice task force report.
