    Growing Colorado’s Semiconductor Industry: Polis Administration Capturing Federal CHIPS and Science Act Funding for Colorado Jobs and Economy

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced the CHIPS Refundable Tax Credits Program to aid Colorado companies in securing federal funding available through the CHIPS and Science Act. This funding will support the development of the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries within Colorado, creating new good-paying jobs and contributing to a strong, diversified economy.

    Polis Administration Announces Bustang Cutting Fares in Half through September

    DENVER – Today, the Polis administration and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced that the state is cutting its Bustang fares in half for most routes in August and September, providing a lower-cost alternative to driving and helping to support statewide efforts to mitigate ground-level ozone pollution.

    Governor Polis Takes Action in Response to Extreme Weather

    DENVER- Today, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order memorializing his verbal orders on June 22, 2023 and July 18, 2023, declaring and extending a disaster emergency following severe weather and flooding in June. The disaster emergency enabled state agencies to activate the State Emergency Operations Plan and appropriately respond to the weather events and damage. The Executive Order also allocates funding for response, consequence management, mitigation, and recovery efforts related to the June 2023 extreme weather and flooding.

    Colorado Launches Free Training for In-Demand Jobs

    DENVER– Today, Governor Jared Polis, in partnership with the Colorado Community College System, announced the launch of Career Advance Colorado, a workforce development initiative providing free training for in-demand jobs through the state’s 19 community and technical colleges. The program aims to prepare more than 20,000 Coloradans for high-skill careers while responding to the state’s most critical workforce shortages.
