    Governor Polis Provides Update on COVID-19 Pandemic

    DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis provided an update on the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination efforts in Colorado, particularly vaccinations among younger people. The Governor was joined by State Epidemiologist Dr. Rachel Herlihy, Colorado’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Eric France, and Dr. Suchitra Rao, Children’s Hospital Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at Children’s Hospital Colorado and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado.

    Governor Jared Polis, CDLE Announce the Colorado Jumpstart Incentive

    DENVER — Today Governor Jared Polis signed an Executive Order creating a new monetary incentive program to support unemployed Coloradans as they return to work full time. Under the Colorado Jumpstart incentive program, unemployed individuals are eligible to receive an incentive of up to $1,600 to support the transition into full-time work.

    Governor Polis Calls for National Park Designation of Amache Site

    DENVER- Governor Polis sent a letter calling on the National Park Service to support the inclusion of the former Amache Japanese Internment Camp Site near Grenada, Colorado into the National Park system. The National Park Service is currently evaluating the suitability for inclusion of the Amache site into the National Park system through a Special Resource Study. This study represents an early step in the process of designating this site as a National Park site, and was directed by congress via the 2019 John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act. The public may wish to provide public comment during this time, or participate in one of the upcoming public comment sessions that will be held by the National Park Service later this month.
