DENVER - Today, Governor Polis ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings in honor and remembrance of First Lady Rosalynn Carter as proclaimed by President Biden. Flags should be lowered beginning on Saturday, November 25, 2023, until sunset on the day of the funeral which will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis announced the six recipients of the fourth round of RISE grant funding. This round of RISE provided funding to create more youth apprenticeship opportunities for high school students. Youth-based apprenticeships are an innovative way to help students gain professional experience and explore future career goals while finishing their high school degree. Additionally, youth apprenticeships blur the lines between learning and earning, increase postsecondary options for students, and develop Colorado’s workforce.

Governor Polis has proposed a budget that addresses the pressing challenges facing Colorado and prepares the state to weather any future economic challenges, and for the first time in 14 years fulfills the promise to voters to fully fund our schools.
DENVER - Governor Polis and Dr. Angie Paccione, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) celebrated the success of the CollegeInvest First Step Program, which has awarded $1 million to more than 10,000 Colorado families saving for their children's future education and highlighted additional opportunities to save. The CollegeInvest First Step program helps families begin planning and saving for their children's postsecondary education by awarding $100 to a CollegeInvest savings account free of charge. Additionally, Governor Polis and CDPHE highlighted the opportunity for families already enrolled in the First Step program or who join the program before December 31, 2023, to access additional dollar-for-dollar matching up to $2,500 over the next five years.
DENVER- Today, Governor Polis appointed Chantel E. Contiguglia to the 1st Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Randall C. Arp and is effective January 1, 2024.
