DENVER - Today, Governor Polis is signing legislation into law. One of the Polis administration's top priorities over the next four years is to build more housing options for every Colorado budget. This afternoon, Governor Polis signed HB23-1189 Employer Assistance For Home Purchase Tax Credit - Representatives Shannon Bird and Ron Weinberg, Senators Rachel Zenzinger and Kyle Mullica and HB23-1255 Regulating Local Housing Growth Restrictions - Representatives William Lindstedt and Ruby Dickson, Senator Julie Gonzales which take important steps to cut red tape that limits housing options.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed LaQunya L. Baker and Jacob A. Edson to fill two judicial vacancies on the 18th Judicial District Court. The vacancies are created by the retirement of the Honorable Jeffrey Holmes and the resignation of the Honorable Peter Michaelson. Mr. Edson's appointment is effective July 1, 2023, and Ms. Baker's appointment is effective August 1, 2023.
DENVER- Today, Governor Polis joined bill sponsors, advocates, and community leaders to sign new laws to improve public safety by cracking down on dangerous ghost guns and auto theft in Colorado and improving victim notification. Governor Polis is committed to making Colorado one of the ten safest states in the nation and, in partnership with the legislature, is continuing to take action to achieve this goal and reduce crime.
DENVER- Today, on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Governor Polis will join legislative leaders, advocates, and community members to celebrate progress in reducing gun violence in Colorado and the historic laws passed this year to help make Colorado one of the ten safest states. Governor Polis will also sign a new law to crack down on dangerous ghost guns and sign a proclamation recognizing the importance of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
