    General Motors to Sign onto Colorado Electric Vehicle Program Making $4,000 Tax Credit Immediately Available for Purchasers

    DENVER - General Motors (GM) has informed state officials that the auto company will begin using Colorado’s assignability provisions of the Colorado Innovative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit, effective immediately. This will allow Colorado consumers to immediately take advantage of the financial benefit of the current $4,000 state tax credit at the point of sale.

    Gov. Polis, Lt. Governor Primavera: Colorado Is the Best Home For Space Command

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera offered their support for Colorado being selected as the permanent home of U.S. Space Command. After an intensive process, Colorado Springs and Aurora recently submitted their respective applications to the Department of the Air Force. Under the leadership of Lt. Governor Primavera, the State and Federal Delegation provided support and guidance throughout the process.

    Gov. Polis, Dept. of Education & Colorado Education Initiative Partner with RMPBS to Continue to Offer K-3 “Learn with Me at Home” Programming This Fall

    DENVER — Governor Jared Polis, the Colorado Department of Education, and Colorado Education Initiative are partnering with Rocky Mountain Public Media (RMPBS, KUVO JAZZ, The DROP) to provide K-3 students, their families and caregivers with direct-to-home remote lessons in literacy, science, art and math though Colorado Classroom: Learn with Me at Home starting Sept. 7 and airing for 15 weeks on RMPBS. The website, which will include accompanying lesson plans for families, caregivers and their children will launch the same day at: rmpbs.org/ColoradoClassroom.

    Governor Polis Signs Executive Order Directing Action on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis signed an Executive Order today directing the Department of Personnel & Administration to lead efforts on furthering equity, diversity, and inclusion within the State of Colorado. He was joined by Kara Veitch, State Personnel Director and Executive Director of DPA, members of the cabinet, as well as the State Chief Human Resource Officer, and members of the Colorado Equity Alliance.

    Governor Polis’s Division of Insurance Actions Recover Over $1 Million for Colorado Consumers

    DENVER - Over $1 million has been recently recovered for Colorado consumers due to a series of regulatory actions by the Division of Insurance (DOI), part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Three companies will be returning $1,081,987 to Coloradans as a result of DOI actions: Kaiser Permanente of Colorado, Loya Insurance Company and Young America Insurance Company.

    Colorado State Capitol to Shine for Voting Rights Centennial

    DENVER - The Colorado State Capitol will light up in purple and gold on Wednesday night, August 26, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the largest voting-rights expansion in U.S. history. Along with an official proclamation creating “Forward into Light, Women’s Vote Centennial Day,” the evening caps the Women’s Vote Centennial // Colorado 2020, a yearlong statewide effort to examine the importance of voting in our democracy. It is a collaboration between the Governor’s Women’s Vote Centennial Commission, History Colorado, and more than 130 partners across the state.

    Gov. Polis Activates Colorado National Guard to Assist with Wildland Fire Response

    CENTENNIAL – Gov. Jared Polis has verbally authorized the Colorado National Guard to assist the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and incident commanders during the wildfires affecting Colorado. At the SEOC’s request, a Colorado Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter aircrew is on standby at the High-Altitude Army National Guard Training Site in Gypsum, Colorado, to provide a search and rescue capability to incident commanders. The Black Hawk is equipped with a hoist that can help to quickly evacuate firefighters and residents, saving lives.
