DENVER - Today, Gov. Polis and state health and public safety officials discussed how Colorado is preparing for COVID-19 and working to educate Coloradans.
DENVER - Today Gov. Polis and Lt. Gov. Primavera released an updated 2020 Roadmap to Saving Coloradans Money on Health Care to reflect the progress made over the last year to lower health care costs for Coloradans. The governor and lieutenant governor first released the roadmap in April of 2019. They were joined by state lawmakers and advocates at the state capitol today.
DENVER - Following reports that the federal government is abandoning its proposed requirement for utilizing only DEA approved laboratories for testing hemp, Gov. Jared Polis released the following statement:
“Colorado is leading the way when it comes to hemp production and cultivation. I'm relieved that the USDA and Sec. Perdue are recognizing the concerns that Colorado raised in our comments on the interim final rule. This move will help create more job opportunities, will help our farmers and our economy,” said Governor Jared Polis.
DENVER - Gov. Polis today signed HB20-1021, Colorado Youth Advisory Council Membership. This bill adds representatives from the Native American tribes with reservations in Colorado to the Colorado Youth Advisory Council.
DENVER - The Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI), the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care (OSPMHC), and the eHealth Commission have released a Request For Information (RFI) with the purpose of collecting input on innovative solutions and services for reducing confusion and frustration around surprise medical billing, understanding explanations of benefits (EOBs), and accessing state benefits and community programs. This effort is fundamental in advancing Governor Polis and Lt. Governor Primavera’s priorities to improve access to care by reducing health care costs for Coloradans.
DENVER - Today, Gov. Polis and the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) announced that Colorado Crisis Services, the state’s behavioral health response system, has provided more than 1 million services to Coloradans since the program’s inception in 2014.
DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis today announced the appointment of Pax Moultrie as a judge on the Denver Juvenile Court. Her appointment is occasioned by the retirement of the Honorable Donna Schmalberger.
DENVER - Today Gov. Jared Polis met with President Trump in Colorado Springs to discuss the permanent relocation of the U.S. Space Command headquarters. Gov. Polis released the following statement after the meeting.
“Colorado is the perfect home for Space Command and I was excited to have the opportunity to remind President Trump why that’s true,” said Governor Jared Polis. “Colorado is home to a proud military history. Not only do we have a strong community of veterans and active duty military, but our state is the epicenter for the national security and aerospace industries. We had a great conversation today about why Colorado is best and I think after his visit to Colorado Springs, the President will see that Space Command’s permanent home should once again be in Colorado. The President said he enjoyed his speech at the Air Force Academy Graduation and is strongly considering Colorado for Space Command and plans to decide by the end of the year.”
DENVER - Gov. Polis has ordered flags lowered to half staff on all public buildings statewide from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, to honor the passing of West Metro Firefighter and Paramedic, Dan Moran.
