    Governor Polis Statement on Passing of Former State Senator John Taylor

    DENVER - Gov. Polis released the following statement on the passing of former Senator John Taylor. “I am deeply saddened by the loss of Senator John Taylor. It’s a wonderful thing to see the outpouring of love and admiration from those who knew him best. He is being remembered as a true statesman, and a strong advocate for rural Colorado and our state’s strong military presence. This is a difficult time for all Coloradans, made no easier by the loss of so many members of our communities. Senator Taylor will be greatly missed.” Taylor passed away last week from pneumonia and complications from COVID-19 at the age of 84. Taylor served eight years in the House, from 1993 to 2000, and eight years in the Senate, 2001 to 2008.

    COVID Relief Fund Awards Second Round of Grants

    DENVER - Today the COVID Relief Fund announced the second round of grant awards. “We are inspired by the generosity of those who have donated and are thrilled that organizations across the state are able to help more people in their communities during this difficult time,” said Governor Jared Polis. “In this economic environment, community organizations are dealing with a drop in donations at the same time that more Coloradans need services and assistance, putting immense strain on their ability to meet the needs of the community.     Governor Polis Provides Update on Colorado Response to COVID-19

    DENVER - Gov. Polis today provided an update on Colorado’s response to COVID-19. “Safer at Home is not a return to normalcy, which means that Coloradans should continue to be responsible, stay at home when possible and wear masks when in public. This virus is having an impact on every part of our lives. We talk a lot about how this is affecting public health and our economy, but it’s equally important to recognize the impact this is having on Coloradans’ mental and behavioral health,” said Governor Jared Polis. “We want to ensure everyone has the resources they need during this difficult time, whether it’s related to your finances or mental health. We are all in this together and we’re going to get through this together.”

    Office of eHealth Innovation Advancing Governor Innovation Response Efforts

    DENVER -- As part of Colorado’s response to COVID-19, Colorado’s Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI) is expanding access to telehealth resources for Coloradans. The state is developing a coordinated and collaborative approach to health information technology and digital health solutions in partnership with the Innovation Response Team (IRT). OeHI and the eHealth Commission are moving forward critical and strategic infrastructure projects to support Coloradans through the COVID-19 emergency response and beyond.

    Colorado & Nevada Join California, Oregon & Washington in Western States Pact

    DENVER – Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak today announced their respective states are joining California, Oregon and Washington in the Western States Pact -- a working group of Western state governors with a shared vision for modifying stay at home and fighting COVID-19.
