    Kaiser Permanente and Employees Make Major Donation to Colorado COVID Relief Fund

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis and Kaiser Permanente announced today that the health care organization and its employees will donate $500,000 to the Colorado COVID Relief Fund, $300,000 of which will be restricted to organizations applying to do contact tracing, specifically organizations focused on cultural competency within Colorado communities. The remaining $200,000 will come through Kaiser Permanente’s employee donation matching campaign, ending on September 30, 2020.

    State Report: Colorado Interim Report on Costs Funded by CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund

    DENVER - The Office of State Controller released an interim report today as required by the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) Office of Inspector General (OIG). The report includes costs incurred during the period March 1 through June 30, 2020. Further clarification is helpful to understand the fiscal challenges facing the state and the overall allocation of federal CARES Act funding.

    Local Leaders, Groups Support Statewide Mask Wearing Order To Help Slow Spread of COVID-19

    DENVER - Gov. Polis announced a statewide mask order yesterday and the Polis administration has acted swiftly and boldly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wearing a mask is an easy and highly effective way to significantly reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the order has received widespread support. Gov. Polis was joined by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman at the announcement. The majority of Colorado’s municipalities and counties have already led the way by instituting local mask orders.

    Gov. Polis, Dept. of Local Affairs, State Lawmakers Announce Rental Assistance Fund

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis and the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) today announced the Property Owner Preservation (POP) Program for rental assistance, resulting from HB20-1410, COVID-19-related Housing Assistance. The Governor thanks Representatives Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez, D-Denver, and Tony Exum, D-Colorado Springs; Sen. Rachel Zenzinger D-Arvada, and Sen. Julie Gonzales, D-Denver, for partnering on this important legislation that allocates nearly $20 million in federal CARES Act funding for housing assistance.

    Governor, Legislators Announce Members of RTD Accountability Committee

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis, Senator Faith Winter, Chair of the Senate Transportation & Energy Committee, and Representative Matt Gray, Chair of the House Transportation & Local Government Committee today announced appointments to the Regional Transportation District (RTD) Accountability Committee. One month ago, the Governor and legislators joined with RTD to announce the creation of this committee after it was unanimously approved by RTD.
