    Polis Administration Awards $14.4 Million to Support Nation-Leading Efforts in Geothermal Heating

    STATEWIDE - The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) announced a total of $14.4 million in funding awards Thursday to support geothermal heating projects across Colorado. This funding from the Geothermal Energy Grant Program (GEGP) and Geothermal Energy Tax Credit Offering (GETCO) will enable awardees to plan and install geothermal heat pumps and thermal energy networks that deliver low-cost, energy efficient heating and cooling to homes and buildings around the state. Awardees include local governments, school districts, residential communities, a medical campus, and a wastewater treatment facility.

    Pueblo and Southern Colorado Leaders Discuss Region’s Workforce and Broadband Needs

    PUEBLO – Today, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and Southern Colorado Economic Development District (SCEDD) hosted a Regional Talent Summit at the Pueblo Convention Center to convene industry and community leaders, discuss much needed career pathway solutions and begin developing tactical workforce plans to ensure that Colorado workers develop the skills employers need.

    Governor Polis, State Forest Service Announce 37 Wildfire Mitigation Grants

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado State Forest Service announced $7.04 million in wildfire mitigation grants. In total, the CSFS will award the $7.04 million to 37 projects in 26 counties across Colorado. Colorado’s diverse forests cover more than 24 million acres, and they provide crucial benefits including clean air and water, habitat for wildlife, outdoor recreation and more. All of these values that Colorado’s forests provide are at risk of wildfire. Since 2018, the State of Colorado has provided funding to assist communities and groups across Colorado to reduce their wildfire risk and promote forest health through the Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation (FRWRM) grant program, administered by the Colorado State Forest Service.

    Breaking: Governor Polis Unveils Official Portrait

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis unveiled his new official gubernatorial portrait to be displayed in the Colorado State Capitol. In the time honored tradition of each Governor choosing their own portrait, Governor Polis’s portrait joins fellow governors from throughout Colorado history. These portraits adorn the walls of the East and West Foyers on the State Capitol’s first floor, welcoming Coloradans and visitors to the historic building. The Governor’s portrait, inspired and created by local Colorado artists, reflects his commitment to the arts, his support of Colorado creativity, and his appreciation for innovative strategies of personal expression.
