CLEAR CREEK/SUMMIT COUNTIES - Today, Governor Polis traveled to Clear Creek and Summit Counties. In Clear Creek, Governor Polis visited Fieldhouse Apartments, a new housing complex creating new homes for hardworking Coloradans. This complex creates 120 new homes in Idaho Springs for Coloradans making 70-100% of the Area Median Income. Through Proposition 123, the State of Colorado approved an expected $8.5 million in investment capital to build these new homes.
“Creating new housing Coloradans can afford is important for every community across the state, and especially our mountain communities. Through partnership with the state, this new housing complex will help ensure that Coloradans who work in Idaho Springs can continue to live in this unique and vibrant community. I am thrilled our state was able to support this effort and I look forward to continuing to break down barriers to housing to help more Coloradans afford rent or mortgage,” said Governor Polis.
This afternoon, Governor Polis traveled to Summit County to visit the newly completed Summit Fire & EMS Station 10, a critical investment that will help protect Coloradans and communities in Summit County.
“Our mountain communities are no stranger to the danger wildfires pose for Coloradans and our communities. I'm thrilled to visit the new Summit Fire & EMS Station 10 to meet with staff and hear about how to better keep Coloradans and property safe from wildfires in Summit County,” said Governor Polis.
