No person shall provide barbering, cosmetology, esthetician, hairstyling, or manicuring services at a place of business unless the location is registered with the Office. If you are opening a new shop, have purchased a shop, or are relocating a shop, you must register your business location with the office.
As a small business owner, you may be required to obtain a federal Employer Identification Number (EIN). Please review this information from the Internal Revenue Service.
License Expiration Grace Period for New Applicants. All new applicants who are issued a registration within 120 days of the upcoming renewal expiration date will be issued a registration with the subsequent expiration date. For example, registrations issued between August 1, 2011 and November 30, 2011 will reflect a license expiration date of November 30, 2013. Licenses issued prior to August 1, 2011 will reflect an expiration date of November 30, 2011 and must renew in the upcoming renewal period.
License Renewal Information. All Barber / Cosmetology Shop and Salon registrations expire on November 30 of odd-numbered years and must be renewed to continue practicing.
