Consumer Insurance Council


About the Council

The Colorado Division of Insurance established the Consumer Insurance Council in 2001. A cross-section of Coloradans was selected to represent the consumer perspective concerning insurance issues. The mission of the Council is to discuss and share information on insurance issues. The Council provides insights from the consumers' perspective on regulations and initiatives developed by the Division of Insurance.

Council members volunteer their time and commit to a one- or two-year term. The Council meets between four and eight times each year. For more information, contact Deputy Commissioner Peg Brown at 303-894-7501.

In 2008, the Consumer Insurance Council was codified in statute, §10-1-133 Colorado Revised Statutes



Meetings are typically held in conference rooms of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
