The Life, Accident, and Health Section reviews rates to ensure they are not excessive, inadequate or unfairly discriminatory. Policy forms are reviewed or certified for compliance.

Rates must be filed with the Division for all sickness and accident insurance prior to use.
Life Illustrations are required to be certified for compliance and filed with the Division.

The Colorado Division of Insurance surveys the health insurance industry to determine the cost of health insurance in Colorado. In accordance with Colorado Revised Statute 10-16-111(4) carriers are required to report a variety of health insurance cost information to the Commissioner of Insurance annually by June 1. The data collected will be aggregated and published on the Division's website. For more information please refer to Colorado Regulation
