Resident Insurance Producers must satisfy continuing education requirements in order to renew their license. The continuing education requirement is 24 hours every 2 years (3 hours ethics, 18 hours in major lines and 3 hours miscellaneous). There are more specific requirements for claims-made, long term care and flood insurance, contained in the 18 hour requirement. A continuing education course can’t be repeated in a 2 year period.
Non-Resident Insurance producers must be licensed and in good standing in their home state, satisfy his/her home state continuing education requirements, and pay a biennial continuation fee to the Department.
