Qualifying real estate appraisal courses must be at least 15 hours long including an examination and the course and the provider must be approved by the Board. The Board does not endorse any particular provider or course of study. It is the licensees’ responsibility to contact providers directly for current approved offerings. Qualifying education may be used to satisfy continuing education requirements. Except that the 15 hours national USPAP course cannot be used to satisfy the 7 hour national USPAP course requirement.

The Division of Real Estate maintains and updates a list of educational courses that have been approved by the Board of Real Estate Appraisers for qualifying education. Courses listed on the PDF document that can be counted toward qualifying education requirements will have "QE" noted in the column next to the course expiration date. Please consult the list when looking for courses to take. If the course you are currently taking is not on the list, check with your course provider to see if it has been approved by another organization. Not every approved course is listed.
