This online system was designed to allow homeowners and plumbing contractors to obtain plumbing permits, through credit card payment, and request inspections via the Internet. A mobile home installer, gas piping installer, or shower pan installer may also obtain permits through the online process.
Verify that your job site address is within the Plumbing Board’s inspection area. The state does not inspect in local jurisdictions that have their own plumbing inspection program or that have not requested such inspections from the Plumbing Board. You are responsible for determining the correct inspection authority (City or County www.ccionline.org/)
Please do not continue with the permit application process if your job site is located in one of the following counties (Exception: Public schools and state buildings are inspected by State Inspectors). Contact your local city or county building department for verification.
|Adams||Eagle||La Plata||Rio Grande|
|Arapahoe||El Paso||Lake||San Juan|
If you are a homeowner hiring a plumbing contractor (PC) to install your plumbing, your PC is responsible for obtaining the required permit(s). As the homeowner, you should not continue with the permit application process.
Be aware that it is a violation of state statutes for an individual (other than the homeowner) to install plumbing on your property or that is not a registered plumbing contractor. In addition, homeowner’s insurance may not cover the costs of repair for work performed by anyone that does not have liability insurance and causes damage to your home.
NOTE: A separate permit is required for each detached structure on the same property. Separate structures must be clearly indicated by name, letter, or number if more than one exists on the same property. Example: garage, studio, barn; building A, B, C; building 1, 2, 3, etc.
Reminder: You cannot use the online system to request permit transfers (transfer of ownership), permit extensions or make informational changes to your permit (property address, spelling corrections, etc.). For any of these services, please contact the Denver office at Plumbing@state.co.us.
Certain residential plumbing jobs fall into a special category, and are not charged the $105 base permit fee. When filling out the on-line application, please be sure that you make the appropriate selection to benefit from the savings. Click the ‘RESIDENTIAL SPECIAL” box under “Type of work”. Refunds will not be issued if you select the wrong category and process the permit. The items in the Residential Special category are:
