Telecom Rate Comparison Main Page

Over the last decade, consumers have changed the way they use telecommunication services. Ten years ago there were more than 192 million landline phones and now that number is down to 122 million. At the same time, the number of wireless phones has grown from fewer than 110 million to nearly 303 million today. High speed internet lines have increased dramatically from fewer than 7 million in 2000 to over 130 million ten years later. The result of the increase in telecommunications use is that consumers have viable alternatives to the traditional, landline phone and many are choosing more than one option.

In the past, the Office of Consumer Counsel annually mailed out the OCC Consumer News that provided a list of the best Long Distance providers in Colorado which over time has become obsolete. In response to the constantly changing needs of the Colorado consumer, the Office of Consumer Counsel has compiled rate comparisons for landline, cellular, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Long Distance and Prepaid Calling Card providers in Colorado.

The following links provide the specific information for:

Wireline (Landline)

Wireless (Cellular)

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Long Distance and Prepaid Calling Cards

Rates listed are effective 2012. Rates and calling plans are subject to change. Contact companies for current rates and additional calling plans. Please note: Some companies may have plans with cheaper rates if you sign up for service through the Internet, pay your monthly bills by credit card, or both.
