Appraiser Background Check Information

Requirements for New, Upgrading or Renewing Appraisers

Prior to submitting an application for a new license or to upgrade a current license, you are required to submit your fingerprints to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI). To avoid delays due to fingerprint processing times, please submit your fingerprints as soon as possible.

If your license or certification expires on December 31st of 2014 or 2015, you must submit your fingerprints to CBI prior to submitting your application for renewal. Your application will not be processed until your fingerprints are submitted. Please do this as soon as possible to avoid reinstatement penalty fees.

Fingerprinting Compliance

You may click on the link below to see if your name is on the compliance list. If your name is on the compliance list, the DRE has received your fingerprints and you are now able to submit your application for renewal. The list is updated quarterly. You may contact us at 303-894-2166 if it has been more that 30 days since you submitted your fingerprints and you do not see your name on the list.
