We protect the Colorado consumer through the regulation of professional licensees and related programs; to include:

  • Real Estate Brokers;
  • Mortgage Loan Originators;
  • Real Estate Appraisers;
  • Appraiser Management Companies
  • Subdivision Developers
  • Community Association Managers;
  • Conservation Easements Holders
  • Conservation Easement Tax Credits; and
  • HOA Information Office.

The Division of Real Estate’s mission is a balance between consumer protection and business needs of the licensee. We strive to accomplish this balance by establishing professional standards through appropriate and meaningful regulations. The Boards and Commissions found within the Division share a common set of principles.

  1. We believe in transparency: regulation should be open, simple, and user-friendly. The Division encourages industry and consumer participation and feedback. There are numerous opportunities to serve on committees, task forces, and Boards and Commissions.
  2. We believe in consistency: application and enforcement of professional standards are predictable. Professional standards apply and are enforced equally to small or large companies/out-of-state or instate professionals.
  3. We are accountable: the Division of Real Estate is accountable to the consumer, licensees, and the legislature.
  4. We believe regulation should be focused and timely.
  5. We believe in communication: we strive to effectively inform, verify, educate and advise consumers and licensed professionals
