Effective July 1, 2013, all appraisers must have in place an errors and omissions insurance policy. The requirements for this policy are set forth in Chapter 6 of the Board Rules. These rules set forth minimum coverage requirements for all appraisers. Please review these rules to determine minimum coverage requirements.
The Colorado Division of Real Estate has contracted with Rice Insurance Services, LLC to administer the group E&O insurance program for Colorado appraisers. Policy pricing begins at $308 for a one year insurance policy. Enrollment is available online or via phone at 1-800-637-7319.
Appraisers who already have a policy of E&O insurance in place, or who wish to obtain insurance through a carrier outside of the group program, may provide the Division of Real Estate with the Certificate of Independent Coverage, to submit to the Division. Please note that the form must be completed by your insurance provider.
