American Bankers Association (ABA)
Trade association that provides banking education and training products for the banking industry and promotes consumer education designed to enhance the public's knowledge of personal money management skill, banks and banking services. 

Colorado Bankers Association (CBA)
Trade association representing Colorado banks, provides government relations, community relations, banker education and information, and information with regard to current state and federal banking issues.

Colorado Department of Law
Represents the State in regulatory law, civil litigation and regulating the use and conservation of Colorado's natural resources. General counsel to most of the Executive Branch and represents the State in the defense of criminal convictions in appellate tribunals and in the prosecution of criminal violations in certain legislatively delegated areas.

Colorado Division of Financial Services
Primary regulator for Colorado's state chartered credit unions and savings and loan association. In addition, administrator of the Public Deposit Protection Act for savings and loan associations and oversight of certain financial activities of life care institutions.

Colorado Uniform Consumer Credit Code (UCCC)
Law that regulates how much can be charged for credit, restricts what can happen in the event of late payment, and defines the information that must be provided by the lender before committing to a credit transaction.

Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS)
CSBS is the accreditor of state banking departments and a major trainer of supervisory personnel. Dedicated to enhancing the value of the state bank charter and strengthening the dual banking system.

Federal Agency Guidance
Provides database featuring regulatory guidance from the FDIC, Federal Reserve Board, FinCEN, Interagency, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Office of Thrift Supervision.

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)
Depositor insurance protection; regulator responsible for supervising certain savings banks and state chartered banks that are not members of the Federal Reserve System.

Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC)
Reports and data collected from various federal sources; outstanding feature is the FFIEC's geocoding system that enables visitors to plug in addresses and get the latest demographic data.

Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB)
Single, largest supplier of home mortgage credit in the United States; support residential mortgage lending by member-stockholders. FHLBanks provide members with access to economical wholesale credit products and provide an attractive and safe stock investment.

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City (FRB)
Serves depository institutions and the public in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, northern New Mexico, and western Missouri--the Tenth Federal Reserve District.

Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA)
Primary voice for community banks in the United States. Advocate for community banks, representing the industry before Congress, state legislatures, regulators, and the media.

Independent Bankers of Colorado (IBC)
Enhance and promote strong independent banks, advance common legislative concerns, promote ideas, relationships and communication of common objectives of independent banks.

Money Transmitter Regulators Association (MTRA)
MTRA is a national, nonprofit organization, consisting of state regulatory authorities, dedicated to the effective and efficient regulation of money transmitters and check sellers in the United States.

National Information Center (NIC)
Provides information on banks and other institutions for which the Federal Reserve has a supervisory, regulatory, or research interest, including both domestic and foreign banking organizations operating in the United States.

Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)
Maintains public information about the national banking system. Topics include news releases, publication, public information, bank information, regulatory activities, and consumer outreach. Effective July 21, 2011, the Office of Thrift Supervision became part of the OCC.

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
An independent, nonpartisan, quasi-judicial regulatory agency responsible for administering the federal securities laws. Laws protect investors in securities markets and relate firms engaged in the purchase or sale of securities, people who provide investment advice, and investment companies.

State of Colorado
